ABOUT THE ANGLER/BACKGROUND –

Cassie Malson-Dixon aka CMDfishinggirl is a female angler who has had a huge passion for all things fishing since being 4 years old. She comes from a family of anglers, and loves to participate in all kinds of fishing.. from freshwater to saltwater, from shore to offshore, from bait fish to big game!

She’s racked up multiple species over the many years of her angling but most recently has started to travel more overseas too. She’s fished countries like Mexico, Jamaica, Cape Verde, Tenerife, Morocco & more. Making contacts and friends worldwide. 

Sharks are a huge love for Cassie, she’s been fascinated by them since being a little girl. Not only does she love to catch huge giants such as Tiger sharks, Lemon sharks, Blues etc but she has also participated in the swab and tag for NOAA and PAT SMITH DATABASE and looks forward to continuing to do so.

Cassie is also PADI open water certified, she loves to get up close with nature and has a huge appreciation for the planet that we live on.

CASSIE’S FAVOURITE SPECIES –

It’s tough to pick a favourite species, but I do love the adrenaline of having a shark on the line!

CASSIE’S MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCES –

It would be impossible to ask what’s my most memorable experience as I’ve had so many incredible experiences but I will try to list a few..

– being a part of an all female crew in the UK to target big game.

– hooking into a blue marlin on my birthday and getting to witness the show it put on was out of this world. 

– a lot of my favorite memories are from when i was growing up fishing with my parents all the time. 

– landing my first big shore caught sharks 

I could go on and on, but I am thankful for every experience and feel blessed to have met so many incredible people around the world.
